*20 days* Our little Sofie already growing up!

On Monday, Sofie had her two week check-up. Her Jaundice seems to be under control, and she's beginning to grow...slowly. She's back up to her birth weight, plus 2 oz, giving us a grand total of 7 lbs and 7 oz! She spent the last week screaming all night long, making mommy and daddy totally insane. She has reflux, which may be causing the nighttime fuss. :( Fortunately, she's given us a break for a few days and only wakes up to eat, which is every 3 hours. However, she doesn't fall asleep until about midnight, and she's wide awake by about 6:00. That gives mommy a total of 4 hours of sleep. Then of course, Sofie sleeps all day. We're still working on switching that schedule. Of course, being Andrea's baby, she's stuck on Beijing time. :) Sofie always knows exactly where her binky is! Check out that grip!
Wouldn't she be adorable with a pixie cut! :) Love those sideburns! Tummy Time: Dr.'s orders. She's got great neck muscles!
But of course, snug as a bug for the rest of the day.
Won't even wake up for her photo shoot!

Baby's first bath!

Sofie spent most of the time screaming, but actually enjoyed being on her belly in the water.

Mmmm, tasty soap mom!

Look at all those helping hands! Thank goodness for Grandma!

Sofie at Home

Now our sweet baby Sofie is three days, going on four and is adjusting well to life at home.
Poor Baby Sofie didn't take to her cradle right away! She ended up in her carseat.
Puffy mom and sweet baby. Mom remembers those stiff kickin' legs from the inside!
After a good meal and a burp...sleepy time. (note the praying mantis arms) Our own little X-Files experiment! Sofie may seem perfect, but we haven't been able to keep her liver working properly just yet, so to cure her Jaundice she gets to sleep on this fun bed!
Daddy and our little "Bili" (referring to her bilirubin levels)
She's just as happy as can be on her "Bilibed"

Baby Sofie!! - updated

-September 1, 2008-
Update!!!
We made it home Sunday evening about 8:30 PM. Sofie spent the night being passed between mom and dad while they tried to catch up on some sleep. She is a sleepy content baby during the day and alert and hungry during the night.
And of course the pictures and videos....

Is Andrea really pregnant?

Andrea is hoping that all of the sickness she has been experiencing for the past 7 months is not just symptoms of weight gain. People in our ward are still surprised to hear that she is pregnant so she wanted proof that it wasn't just from the late night snacks. So Derek took a picture so that she could see what everyone else sees.
"That can't be 7 months worth of baby!!"

Rest assured, at Andrea's doctors appointment the nurse said that her torso length is long enough that her belly doesn't need to stick out that much and that the baby isn't missing any parts.

Death Destruction and Almost Nurseries

Turns out that instead of just waiting 2 more months for our little addition, a better option of raising a house of mold was thrown at us. Below our newly assembled crib Andrea, with her super human sense of smell, sniffed out the source of the problem.
I don't think that this was the original color of the wood...

Shortly there after we found that the wall had to be opened up to find a leak from our tub.Andrea said this one looked "scary".

The King and I

Andrea and I went to see The King and I for one of my ridiculously easy classes this semester, Theatre.

Under Construction

Today we were able to cram our new crib into Andrea's hatchback, and work on setting up the first part of the nursery!

Andrea, worked on the clean up of the room.

Derek took on the deciphering of the 50 page instruction book.

Making some kind of progress.

Ultrasound, The Sequel!!

Andrea got to finally go back for her second ultrasound this week, May 16, 2008. It was amazing to see how much the baby has grown in just 6 weeks! Again, the baby has Andrea's modesty genes, but we got a clearer picture of the gender. We're still "pretty sure" it's a girl because there is an absence of boy parts. We also got to see all four chambers of her heart, which was pretty cool. She's healthy, and according to Andrea's mom, she's "beautiful". :) Our new due date is September 11th. Can't wait to meet her face to face!!

The picture on the left is Miss Blatter's face and little hands, the one on the right is of her legs, crossed at the ankle. How cute!

Ultrasound!!

This past week we had our ultrasound appointment. We were finally able to see the source of Andrea's disease she has been suffering from for the past 4+ months. The doctor said that we had an 80% girl. I sure hope the remaining 20% is finished by September 2nd!
