Conference Project

Kind of a crappy picture, but this is what kept my fingers busy during 8 hours of Conference (and more)! I love listening to Conference, but I usually do better if I have something tedious for my fingers to do, like wrapping potstickers, or cutting out tiny pieces of felt. (It's a table runner, if you can't tell.)

Halloween, One Pumpkin at a Time!

Sooo excited about her orange and black Halloween cookie!!

Not enough time for everyone to carve a pumpkin, but we figured it'd be fun for at least Sofie to do one tonight. Daddy wielded the weapon.

Exploring the goo. This year she didn't try to eat it all!

Reaction to the lights off and the candle glowing
(minus the flash of this camera).

Sofie wanted a "smiley face" not a "mean one."

Love this time of year!

It's anniversary time! Derek and I were married October 7, 2006. So for our 4th anniversary we went to Park City. Got a sweet deal on a hotel/breakfast. This was the view from our balcony. (And to make the occasion even more exciting, while we were driving up there our realtor called to tell us our offer was accepted on the house we want!)

We reserved a typical one room unit but when we walked in we found a full sized kitchen, a family room with 2 couches, 2 full bathrooms, 2 fireplaces, a balcony, all in addition to the bedroom we expected. Wow!! Too bad we had already eaten dinner and had free breakfast at the cafe in the morning. However, don't worry, I'm pregnant and the kitchen was used around midnight after a quick trip to 7eleven for some cup o'noodle!

On our way to Main Street.

It was apparently the Porsche convention...Main street was lined with hundreds of them!

A lovely stay. I'd do it again!

Look what I've been making!

I liked the first one so much that I decided to make another GIRL!!!
And this is the darling profile of her face (and chest)!
The nurse said, "Look at that cute button nose!" I agree. :)
I love my sisters so much and am excited for Sofie to have a SISTER too!

The time is flying by!! I can't believe I'm halfway there already!
Wednesday is our ultrasound, so stay tuned.

Happy Harvest

I love this time of year! And as a bonus, I got to can my own peaches this year for the first time (and help Mom with hers). Now we're just hoping to hear from people who have tomatoes to give away...ours didn't do too well this year!

Does this shirt make me look fat?

16 1/2 weeks...translates into almost 4 months. And it's frighteningly true for me that the second pregnancy shows a lot quicker than the first! (And there's also about an inch of shadow in this picture making the effect even more dramatic!) I'm feeling a bit better these days and even better thanks to Dr. Oz and his home remedies...baking soda and water does wonders for me that the Zantac doesn't! Ultrasound scheduled for October 6th!!

The Terrific Twos

My sister and Sofie have birthdays just one day apart, so we had a big ol' feast and celebration the last weekend of August. We made 2 GIGANTIC lasagnas, tons of garlic bread, salad, and corn. This is the cake...my first experiment with cake decorating! I promise the gray color really did look purple in real life. :)

A few of the feasters. Trust me, nobody left hungry.

My after-nap haired, lasagna faced, beautiful little darling 2 year old.

She may have been more excited about the corn on the cob than she was about the cake!

Sofie loves uncle Scott. She asks about him all day. We've been lucky to have him here living with us the past couple weeks until he can find a place to rent. Scott is helping Sofie find Waldo (or maybe the other way around!)

Tons of presents! (and tons of cousins!)

I wonder what she wished for before she blew them out. She made us light them again because she loved blowing them out so much!

Having fun with grandpa and cousins. I promise that first little squeal is a "twoooo!" when I asked how old she was!
(and just a note for Ma and Pa Blatter, this is the darling dress that Grandma S. made for her a few months back)

Payson Lakes Camping

We finally got to go overnight camping this summer! We had a family group site up at Payson Lakes. Derek couldn't come up until after his class late that night, so it was nice to have lots of cousins and family around to help keep Sofie busy.

Completely soaked in the ice cold spigot water! They both were violently shaking by the time the sun started to go down, but it sure kept them busy for hours! Good thing I brought lots of extra clothes.

No more pictures until the next day...because it POURED for quite some time, more than once. Our tent was flooded (including my clothes which you see drying here). Fortunately, my parents were willing to give up their place in the nice, warm, dry trailer and they slept in their car. Sofie slept...most of the night.

Exploring. (Yes, that mommy is sportin' a bit of a belly already.)

Cheese

This fire ring was perfect for toddlers. HUGE concrete barrier to keep them out of harms way.
Roasting Marshmallows. The first attempt failed the night before due to torrential downpour.

Experiencing the amazing S'more! She mostly just poked her finger in the goo, then licked it off or wiped it on her shirt, but she didn't put it down for about 45 minutes!

When the rain clouds finally went away we headed to the lake. Freezing cold water, and lots of wind, but Sofie loved it.

Tons of fun. Tons of family. Let's do it again next year!
