Doc update

Well, she's not dying. So, that's good. But she probably wishes she was. On top of the flu/cold she got a couple weeks ago and never recovered from...she has a new virus that gives you a sore throat and fever for a week. Yikes. Can't give her anything but Tylenol for it. Oh yeah, and I'm sure the four teeth that are making her feel miserable don't help the throat pain. Poor little thing. But she never cries! Such a trooper!

Celebration...then Back to Reality

Here we are on the 4th at Burgess Park in Alpine. We had a giant Porcaro Family picnic, like every year. I think there were more people there this year than ever! The weather was relatively cool (relative to the unbearably hot years of the past). This is the only picture I have until I can get a hold of the millions that Grandma took. :) So maybe a later post...About half way through the day Sofie started getting a bit lethargic but refused to nap. Then she got this crazy fever, which I attributed to cutting four upper teeth. However, now we're going on day 3 of fever (yesterday it was 103) so I'm thinking something else might be up. She has a doctor's appointment in about an hour, so hopefully we can solve this thing. She's been so pathetically attached to me the past few days :( I miss my talkative, mobile baby.

More adventures in St. George! Here is a picture of Sofie standing. She's really starting to get the hang of it, although I haven't thought to get a picture yet. It's hard to tell in this one, but she's just standing there all on her own! (Check out those toes digging into the carpet for balance!)

Sofie seemed to love the puppy, but when we tried to get her on film it seemed that the rug was suddenly more interesting! She wasn't too sure of Bella after the big wet kiss she got from top to bottom. Sofie is used to Dad's prickly kisses, not so much the slobbery dog ones.

FINALLY some sunshine!

The sun finally came out long enough to warm the air for a St. George trip and swim in Grandma and Grandpa Blatter's pool. Sofie loves the big glorified tub! Sofie and Daddy

Happy Camper

This past weekend we all went up camping to Timpooneke (up A.F. canyon). It was gorgeous. Friday was warm and sunny, but too cold to sleep in a tent with the baby, so we came home to sleep, then headed back up on Saturday to get poured on for a few hours. Sofie LOVED being out there. She was so excited about all the leaves everywhere! And she found a new favorite food group, rocks and pine needles.

Expanding Our Pallet

While Grandma was busy baking cupcakes for Roo's birthday tomorrow, and Mom was busy chopping fruit...Sofie was expanding her pallet. Turns out she loves flour. Mmmm pastey.

Rooey is a missionary!

Roo left today on her Mission!! She will be in the MTC for about a month, then she will be flying out to Missouri, Independence Mission (which includes the Visitor's Center, and most of Kansas). She has a new blog, for those of you who know her, that we will be updating as often as we can. Feel free to check it out: sisteradamson.blogspot.com For some reason it isn't flagging people when it's updated though, so wait a little while and we'll try to fix that once we get Roo's password to change the settings. Saying bye to Sofie, she's almost be 2 1/2 when Roo sees her next!

New Cousin

My cousin Serena finally had her baby! It's been a few days now, but she was having labor pains for days and days, so we were all so relieved to hear that she finally had him. His name is Cairo John. 7 pounds, 18 inches. Tiny little guy! And it's so weird how your own tiny baby suddenly seems like a giant kid when there is a real newborn around! Sofie has gained over 10 pounds since she was born! (sounds sadly familiar...)
